  • Member of the USA Basketball Men’s U16 National Team that posted a perfect 5-0 record en route to winning gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Maldonado, Uruguay; checked in to average 6.8 ppg., 6.0 rpg. and 2.0 bpg.
  • Named to the 2013-14 USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team on March 27, 2013.
  • Participated in the October 2012 USA Developmental National Team mini-camp, held in Colorado Springs, Colo.

  • Attends Wheeler High School (Ga.), where as a sophomore in 2012-13, he helped lead his team to the 2013 Georgia Region 5-AAAAAA title, the Georgia Class 7A semifinals and a 21-9 record; started all 30 games and averaged 12.0 ppg., 10.0 rpg. and 4.0 bpg.
  • Posted a triple-double with 15 points, 18 rebounds and 10 blocked shots versus Lassiter High School (11/30/12).
  • Became the 36th player in the 32-year history of the  Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., to record at least 16 rebounds in a singe game after doing so against Rufus King H.S. (12/29/12).
  • Aided Wheeler as a freshman to a 17-11 record, the 2012 Georgia Region 5-AAAAAA crown and the state sweet sixteen.
  • Earned varsity letters in golf (2011) and track and field (sprints and high jump, 2012).
  • Sidelined for eight weeks last spring with a minor patella tendon injury.

  • Father played basketball for Clark Atlanta University and was inducted into the Clark Atlanta University Athletic Hall of Fame in October 2011.
  • Great-grandfather, Charles Patterson, Sr., played basketball for the University of Oregon, was the first black player in the Northern Division of the Pacific Coast Conference (now Pacific-12 Conference) and was a 1995 Oregon Hall of Fame inductee; played professionally in the American Basketball League and for the Bellingham Firecrests (before the NBA was formed) and for a short time with the Harlem Globetrotters.  
  • Grandfather, Charles Patterson, Jr., played professionally for the Court Jesters, an entertainment basketball team along the lines of the Globetrotters.
  • Was the vice president of his freshman class.
  • Three members of his family served in the U.S. Army during World War II: great-great-uncle Joe Lee Jackson, great-uncles, Henry Jackson, Jr. and Ree Payne; his uncle, Oliver Jackson, also served in the U.S. Army.
