U16 Men Gear Up For Training Camp
USA Basketball welcomed 27 high school trainees to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., Friday, the first day of the 2011 USA Menís Developmental National Team Training Camp. The first three days of the camp will consist of competition to finalize the 12-man roster for the 2011 USA U16 National Team, which will compete for a gold medal at the 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Men, June 21-25, in Cancun, Mexico. On Saturday afternoon the USA team members went to one of the local gyms for their shoot-around. Walking into the club, which featured several outdoor courts being put to good use by young, aspiring Ginobili wannabees, everything stopped. The kids stopped everything, dropped their basketballs and lined up for high-fives from the high-flying USA U16 team. The kids got pictures, autographs and a rare opportunity to watch the USA's practice. Check out the photo gallery to see for yourself!

There are too many places to list in the dateline. From the USA Basketball U16 National Teamís start on Saturday morning in Colorado Springs to the squadís final drive from the Mendoza airport to the hotel, the 15- and 16-year-olds traveled more in nearly 27 hours than most had traveled their entire lives.
